Throughout my 20+ year career in healthcare, my favorite thing is to coach people through changes. Whether the change is personal or professional, I love guiding people through the process to attain their goals!
I have worked as a clinician, treating adolescents, adults, and families in both inpatient and outpatient facilities. I was a director of outpatient services for a psychiatric hospital on the East Coast and owned a consulting practice working with struggling teens and their families on the West Coast.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of New England and am trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. I am a certified professional coach through the World Coach Institute and author of Broken in the Back Bay and Strangers on Newbury Street.
"I reached out to Sarah back in October of 2017. I was feeling lost, burned out and with no direction in my career and overall purpose in life. I am an LCSW and was seriously contemplating leaving my field, as I was not happy or fulfilled. I was feeling dis-empowered and lacked passion towards my work. At this time, I was also engaged and not Fully convinced he was “the one”.
I was lost and needed guidance.
When I first spoke with Sarah, she was so easy to talk to and provided a solid plan for ongoing sessions. Sarah tailored our sessions to meet my unique needs and personality qualities. I was an athlete my whole life and respond well to structure and goal-setting tasks. She provided me with weekly homework assignments and after a few short weeks, I knew wholeheartedly what my next steps were.
The support and focused assignments geared towards self-exploration from Sarah was exactly what I needed to realize my purpose. I now have an established private practice and feel totally confident I am on the right path. Within a few short weeks of working with a Sarah I gained the focus, clarity and confidence to build my own practice and as a by product, I even ended my engagement, as I was not truly fulfilled.
I will be forever thankful for the genuine commitment Sarah had to my success and satisfaction in my personal and professional life." Melanie
